Readak has been working with the independent school community throughout the United
States, Canada, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, the Far East,
and Australia
since 1957. Readak's international experience working with students whose native language
is not English is unique. We are well aware of the cultural differences and educational
needs of international schools and their students.
The following questions are designed to answer only those questions that we have found to
be unique to international school administrators. For answers to other frequently-asked
questions, please also see Information for Administrators and Administrators' FAQ.
1. Should a student who is not proficient in English participate in Readak?
Yes. If a student is successful in a host school, he/she will benefit from Readak.
Readak's studies have shown that a large number of students whose native language is not
English have made significant improvement. Most students improve their reading skills in
direct correlation to their English competency. The course skills can be applied in any
language and students gain added confidence in their ability to use English.
2. To what extent will international students retain the skills they learn?
Readak has on file many student evaluation surveys. The surveys were conducted
after students completed the Readak course. Over 90 percent of the students
taking Readak stated the skills work, grades improve and confidence is
increased.
3. Do you have international references we could check?
We'd be happy to give you the names and telephone numbers of satisfied international
schools. Simply Contact Us.
