Frequently-asked questions about the Readak Teacher and Scheduling
1. Who are the Readak teachers?
Graduates of leading liberal arts colleges and universities, all Readak teachers
participate in more than 150 hours of intensive training, including theory and practicum.
The Readak training program is a graduate level, credit-bearing course accredited by a
Massachusetts college. The most important ingredient of the teachers' approach is
motivation of students, in addition to covering in detail the fundamentals of efficient
reading and studying.
2 May parents consult with the Readak teacher?
They are invited and encouraged to do so. Our teachers will take whatever time is
necessary to discuss a student's participation and progress in the course. A parent
workshop is offered during the course to help parents understand the goals and concepts of
the course.
3 How is the course conducted?
The course length is from 12-20 hours over three to five weeks. Classes are held before,
during, or after school, at the convenience of the faculty, administration, and,
especially, the students. Evening classes and Saturday morning classes are also offered.
4 Who is responsible for scheduling classes and accommodating students' schedules?
The Readak teacher takes care of all aspects of scheduling.
